Sigh... another anniversary

Yes, we've been married 43 years now, but it doesn't seem that long and I don't feel that old.
On Thursday afternoon, we decided to check into a downtown hotel just for the fun of waking up in the heart of the city the next morning. When we checked in, Ken asked the desk clerk if he could steer us to a restaurant that had music with dinner. Well, the Dakota Jazz Club was just down the street two blocks. We've heard about it a lot, so we decided to bundle up and trek on down there. (Remember, our pseudo-Spring is over.) It was cold! ...but well worth thesacrifice: a young torch singer Sophia shorai, who appeared on the current "American Idol" was performing just that night. it was what they called "Foodie Night" and we ordered the meal that the chef had designed for that night. So the short story is the music was wonderful (I felt like dancing all the time) and our food was new to us, delicious, and not too filling. After that we headed back to our cozy room on the seventeeth floor with this beautiful view of the city.

At breakfast, we decided to invite our family over for a little celebration with a spaghetti dinner. Luckily, almost everybody could come (missed you, Peder) and we had a fun evening with the chaos of little kids, the fun conversation of young people, and great food produced by chef Ken.
