Nana day

Demonstrating Egyptian well work
Yesterday, Rellie and I spent a lot of time in the basement.  Just for the record; not a good idea to try to make soup in a strange (moved to the basement) kitchen with an excited four year old in tow.  It took forever!  And... she was as good as she could be.  It's just not a good combination.
The picture:  apparently, she's been studying Egypt at preschool and I left her pouring water through a funnel into the spray bottle in the sink just for a minute to go in search of my phone (to ask Ken if he knew where the can-opener was).  When I came back she had this little pail over by the pully Grampa had set up for his shoulder therapy last winter (2010), and was trying to attach it so she could try the well thing.  With a little help, it worked beautifully and we did some pretending for awhile.
After that, we got ready and went out to the Washburn library.
The soup was declared delicious, but dipping the bread in the broth was much enjoyed and savored.  The veggie's and meat pretty much stayed in the bowl.
