I got hungry for some flowers to take care of last week and I bought both a bouquet of tulips, a lovely orange color and a bunch of pansies in dirt ready for my flower boxes. Today, after lunch at Ikea with Ryan and Carrie (and some window shopping), and while Ken went over to Sarah's to try out the new diaper sprayer attachment for the new baby's diapers (it leaked) I got out the window boxes and put my baby pansies in the dirt and then trekked them to the ledges under the windows. I'm sure by morning they'll be perky and filling up the boxes, well, not really, but I'll take a picture to compare to next Sunday. I feel like the little boy in The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss: "It won't come up.".
