We got our tree!

It's Earth Day and we got our tree today! The forestry dept. of the park board planted the replacement for our fallen elm tree on the boulevard. It's a Linden! We've been looking at trees to put one in the front yard and narrowed the options to Birch, Maple, or Linden. In our research, Lindens were getting a lot of good reviews. One comment was that they are "a little unusual". Maybe that isn't true any more what with the park board planting that. They're very pretty, they make good shade trees, and they're hardy here. The forestry people were very clear that it's our tree to take care of. That's part of the deal.
